Frequently Asked Questions - Voice SIP

What is SIP Trunking?

A SIP trunk is a virtual version of an analog phone line, eliminating the physical connection to a phone company. Using SIP trunks, Flowroute can connect multiple channels to your PBX, allowing you to instantly provision global voice connectivity for your Voice over IP (VoIP) infrastructure.

Do you provide business voice services?

Yes! We offer business voice services via SIP trunking as a cost-efficient, scalable solution that includes high-quality inbound and outbound voice capabilities. We can also connect voice to Microsoft Teams.

Do you work with different types of software?

We are software-agnostic with the ability to interoperate with just about any hardware or software product through our APIs. If you have specific questions, please contact us.

How do I integrate with Flowroute?

Flowroute offers two different interconnection options: SIP trunk registration and IP-based authentication. See knowledge base for more info.

Can I test a Flowroute SIP trunk?

Yes! Want to take Flowroute for a test run first? No problem. You can get set up in three simple steps:

  1. Sign up for an account.
  2. Activate your account – Flowroute is a pre-paid service, therefore you will need to fund the account with $40 under Preferences → Billing Management.
  3. Connect your PBX (3CX, Asterisk, FreeSWITCH, etc) – We have a number of config guides to help with your set up.

If for any reason you are not satisfied with Flowroute, we will refund your $40. There are no contracts, you can cancel at any time. Please contact sales for more information.

Do you offer physical phone systems?

No. We offer the communication service, not the hardware or software PBXs.

Do you offer PBX services?

No. Our products interoperate with PBX software, helping customers integrate voice and messaging services into their applications or phone systems.
