Flowroute Provides Developers APIs to Innovate with Telecoms by Integrating Calling and Messaging Capabilities into Apps & Services

SEATTLE, WA – September 28, 2015 – Flowroute Inc., the leader in advanced voice and messaging capabilities, today announced it is sponsoring TADHack-Mini Chicago to challenge developers to create unique user experiences by integrating voice and messaging capabilities into their apps and services. The ackathon, to be held on October 3 and 4 at The Idea Shop in Chicago, Illinois, gives developers the opportunity to apply Flowroute’s new APIs, along with other open technology providers, and create innovative working application prototypes.

Flowroute’s SIP trunking platform connects developers and enterprises to the public switched telephone network (PSTN), through the Flowroute portal and API, enabling them to integrate calling and messaging capabilities into new and existing applications and services. Leveraging its extensive IP-portfolio, Flowroute overcomes network impairments that affect call quality by moving outbound and inbound calls from one network to another in real-time.

During the two-day event, developers have the opportunity to compete for $8000 in prize money. In addition, each sponsor will award a $1000 prize to a team or individual based on predetermined criteria. Teams will have the opportunity to develop real-world solutions in the following areas:

  • Telecom APIs
  • IoT (Internet of Things)
  • Next generation emergency services (NG911)
  • WebRTC
  • Identity/federation
  • Speech/video processing

“Through our APIs, we want to encourage developers to rethink the experience they are presenting to their users by finding new, unique ways to incorporate voice and messaging capabilities into their existing apps and services,” said Sean Hsieh, co-founder and chief product officer at Flowroute. “Flowroute provides the bridge to carrier-level control and transparency for developers. We have opened up our technology with one goal in mind – to give developers the opportunity to innovate with telecom, which will ultimately lead to an inspired future for carriers and consumers.”
