SEATTLE, Wash. – February 9, 2015 – Flowroute Inc., the leading provider of advanced calling and messaging services for cloud-based companies, is sponsoring the DeveloperWeek Hackathon to challenge developers to create unique user experiences through the integration of intelligent calling and messaging interactions into their apps and services. The hackathon, held on February 13 and 14 at Galvanize in San Francisco, is a two-day challenge for developers to utilize Flowroute’s calling and messaging API, along with other open technology providers, to create innovative, working application prototypes.

The DeveloperWeek Hackathon is the nation’s largest challenge-driven hackathon and boasts over $100,000 in prizes from more than 20 different vendors, including Flowroute. During the event, Flowroute will be hosting an educational workshop at 3:00 p.m. on February 13 in Workshop Room A, where registered attendees can learn more about how to incorporate calling and messaging capabilities into their apps and services.

The Flowroute API provides developers with a streamlined way to take control of and integrate telecom resources into their apps and services. Flowroute simplifies the challenges of accessing telecom services by enabling developers to provision phone numbers, manage call routing, integrate calling and send text messages from toll-free and local phone numbers directly through Flowroute’s API and secure management portal.

“Flowroute is committed to simplifying the way developers access and control all aspects of telephony, such as assigning numbers, routing calls, and voice and messaging to create unique user experiences,” said Sean Hsieh, co-founder and chief product officer at Flowroute. “Given our long history of fostering innovation with telecom, we are very excited to see how developers creatively apply our API to their new apps and services.”
