Flowroute launched its new Edge strategy in 2018. This campaign introduced more modern Points of Presence (PoPs) across international and domestic locations. The upgrade allowed for a significantly improved network performance in key measurements such as response time and throughput.
The California PoP – sip-la1.flowroute.com and sip-ca1.flowroute.com – were retired in November 2018 as a result of the new strategy. This created a pathway to upgrade the remaining legacy technology and is pushing Flowroute continually forward to explore even more new opportunities.
We are now planning the next stage of this process:
The Nevada PoP – sip.flowroute.com / 216.115.69.144 – will be retired on June 12, 2020. This will provide an important step to a completely upgraded system and create an even more stable and advanced experience for Flowroute’s customers.
How does the Nevada retirement affect you?
If you are using Nevada as your SIP connection, you will need to reconfigure your SIP address to point to the new PoPs.
You can find several resources that will help you reconfigure your PoPs.
- Configuration guide – How to interconnect with the New PoPs
- Configuration guide (Advanced) – Setting up Inbound and Outbound Calling for the New PoPs
- Webcast – Benefits and how to set up interconnection with the new PoPs
You can find a full list of resources to help you reconfigure your PoPs.
No action is required if you have already moved to one of our modern PoPs.
